Fun Easter celebration ideas for kids
Springtime is here! And that means flowers, sunshine, and plenty of fresh air — and one of the best holidays to celebrate with kids…Easter! This holiday is a perfect opportunity for the whole family to spend some quality time together, playing games, enjoying the outdoors and eating delicious food.
The great thing about the Easter season is that you don’t have to worry about expensive gifts, lavish vacations or big parties — this is a holiday that is great to celebrate at home, with plenty of activities to do together. And to help you, we’ve come up with our list of fun Easter celebration ideas that the whole family will love!
Scavenger hunt
Instead of your usual, run-of-the-mill Easter egg hunt for kids, take things up a notch by turning it into an all-out scavenger hunt, complete with clues, hints, twists, turns and more. You can even print out ready-made clues with fun hints and Easter gifts for kids. It may take a little longer for your little ones to figure out where you’ve hidden the eggs — but as long as you keep things relatively challenging and encourage working together, everyone is sure to have a blast.
Eggsperiment
The best activities to do with your kids are ones that are educational and fun. That’s why one of our favorite Easter activity ideas is the Eggsperiment kit. This activity gets your kids working with physics, chemistry and biology, while having a lot of fun. Your little ones will watch as the eggshells turn sparkly through crystallization, and color the eggs with chemical reactions. Check out the Eggsperiment kits.
Hand-printed Easter lambs
It’s surprisingly easy to create miniature lambs using ordinary household goods. Grab a handful of cotton balls, some paint or markers and construction paper — and that’s it! Have your kids trace their hands in pen on construction paper, and then glue the cotton balls all over the print until it looks like a cute, fluffy sheep. You can even add googly eyes for even more fun!
Sponge bunnies
Get a bit messy with some painting this Easter. Grab a few sponges and cut out Easter-themed shapes like simple bunnies or egg shapes. Set up the paint in bowls so there is plenty of room for dipping the sponges. Let your kids paint their Easter-themed world with lots of color, and you can even add sparkles and stickers on the table. It’s an easy activity at home, and now you have homemade Easter decorations, too.
Bake sweet bunny treats
We love any excuse to get the kids helping in the kitchen! So, making rabbit-shaped cookies are the perfect way to get your children excited about this festive holiday. Baking is not only fun but it is also a great way to spend time with your kids while teaching them new skills. Let them pour the flour, stir the bowl, or decorate the cookies – it gives them a sense of responsibility and helps you at the same time.
