Top places to visit in Paris with toddlers
Whether you live in France or you’re on holiday, there are many wonderful places you can bring toddlers in Paris. From gardens, to museums, to cafes and shops, you can easily find relaxed and engaging activities the whole family will love. To make it easier for parents and caregivers, we put together a few of our favorite things to do in Paris with toddlers—enjoy!
Outdoor activities
Luxembourg Gardens
Neighborhood: 6th arrondissement: Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Odéon

The Luxembourg Gardens is a wonderful place for all ages to visit. Elegant and historical, it’s the largest park in Paris spanning 60 acres. With many kid-friendly activities like pony rides, puppet shows, and antique sailboat rentals at the Grand Bassin pond, it’s an ideal location for a relaxed family day out. For adults there are tennis courts, chess games, and historical tours. It’s also a beautiful place to relax, have a picnic, and take family photos! There’s also an abundance of kid-friendly cafes and restaurants surrounding the park. Judy Market is a nearby vegetarian spot with healthy options, or check out Treize au Jardin for a hearty brunch. If you’re looking for French cuisine, Les Fondus de la Raclette is a traditional fondue experience that is both delicious and entertaining for kids, or try a classic cafe like Le Choupinet.
Tuileries Gardens

A ten minute walk from the Louvre, Tuileries Gardens is a beautiful place to stroll and enjoy Parisian art and culture. Lounge in front of the duck pools with the iconic green chairs and rest with a view of the Eiffel Tower. For art lovers, the Musée de l'Orangerie is on the park grounds, where you can admire works by Monet. It’s best visited in summer when fair rides and stalls are set up, along with a ferris wheel for stunning views of Paris. There are several cafes to eat at in the park, including the classic Café des Marronniers. Treat your little ones to an ice cream cone at the Petit Farmers Tuileries ice cream truck, or venture out of the park to Happy Cafe or Angelina, both incredible.
Jardin d’Acclimatation

The only amusement park in Paris proper, Jardin d’Acclimatation was inaugurated in 1860 by Napoleon III, and is one of Paris's oldest and most beloved family attractions. Enjoy a chic and entertaining experience for the whole family, featuring vintage rides, beautiful gardens, and roaming peacocks. Depending on the season, you might also catch a circus or theater performance. There are multiple dining options at the park, like La Terrase du Jardin. You can also venture outside of the park to Livio, a wonderful Italian restaurant perfect for a cozy dinner, or Brasserie Charlie for authentic French dishes in a relaxed setting comfortable for the whole family.
Museums
Musée de la Magie

This charming museum nestled in the historic village Saint-Paul is dedicated to the history of magic. With exhibits on optical illusions, magical objects, and live magician performances, it’s an interactive experience for the whole family. It’s also a great place for a toddler birthday party! Find an assortment of restaurants and accommodations in the surrounding neighborhood, from the Maison Bréguet hotel to Chez Janou, a relaxed bistro perfect for both adults and kids. For coffee and refreshments, the Doong Saint Paul cafe across from the museum offers authentic Vietnamese coffee and treats.
Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle

Home to many galleries including the Grande Galerie de l'Évolution, containing over 7000 preserved animal specimens, this museum is packed with life-sized animals, dinosaur skeletons, minerals, and interactive exhibits. It’s impressive for both adults and children with its stunning architecture and thoughtful exhibits on evolution and biodiversity. As a bonus, the Jardin des Plantes next door has a mini zoo and beautiful gardens to relax in after a day of exploring. Grab a bite to eat at the lovely Les Belles Plantes, a Mediterranean restaurant a brisque five minute walk from the museum.
